A unique restaurant in the Arctic Circle
On an archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean is Koks, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant in an old stone farmhouse surrounded by fjords and green valleys.
The restaurant is accessed by four-wheel drive across a volcanic sandy beach. Temporarily relocated until September this year to Ilimacq, Greenland while the team takes up residence in the Faroe Islands.
The refurbishment and extension of the farmhouse was carried out by Scale Design (Denmark-based architecture studio), maintaining the style of the area, such as the grass-covered roof that acts as insulation and some materials that blend in with the landscape.
Decorated with furniture and pieces reminiscent of Scandinavian style, such as sheepskins, candles and local flowers, the dining room has stunning views of the fjords.
The tasting menu features seventeen dishes made from local and seasonal island produce, mostly from the sea. Combining traditional techniques such as fermentation and smoking with modern techniques.

Un restaurante único en el Círculo Polar Ártico
En un archipiélago en medio del Oceano Atlántico se encuentra Koks, un restaurante con dos Estrellas Michelín situado en una antigua granja de piedra rodeada de fiordos y valles verdes.
Se accede al restaurante en un todoterreno cruzando una playa de arena volcánica. Actualmente está reubicado temporalmente hasta septiembre de este año en Ilimacq, Groenlandia mientras el equipo establece su residencia en las Islas Feroe.
La rehabilitación y ampliación de la granja la llevó a cabo Scale Design (estudio de arquitectura con sede en Dinamarca), manteniendo el estilo de la zona, como el techo cubierto de hierba que funciona de aislante y algunos materiales que se funden con el paisaje.
Decorado con muebles y piezas que recuerdan al estilo escandinavo, como las pieles de oveja, velas y flores de la zona, el comedor cuenta con unas asombrosas vistas a los fiordos.
El menú degustación cuenta con diecisiete platos elaborados a base de productos locales de la isla y de temporada, sobre todo los procedentes del mar. Combinan técnicas tradicionales como la fermentación y ahumado de los alimentos con técnicas modernas.
Compartimos el esfuerzo por mantener lo auténtico, la combinación de pasado y presente. La puesta en valor de la tradición y el origen. La pasión por la cocina y la búsqueda de la excelencia.
