«A little paradise on Earth»
Marbella Club is one of the most emblematic spots in Marbella. Since its opening as a hotel in 1954, it has hosted guests ranging from European aristocrats to Hollywood stars such as Brigitte Bardot, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, James Stewart and Julio Iglesias.
It was the former Mediterranean residence of the Hohenlohe-Langeburg family. It was Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe-Langeburg, son of Prince Maximilian Egon of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, who, on behalf of his father, closed the purchase of the estate, formerly called «Finca Santa Margarita». Alfonso built an Andalusian-style residence that soon became, as he described it, «a little paradise on Earth». In order to accommodate the many guests he received, he decided to add 18 rooms that he built around a courtyard. The estate eventually became a 5-star club that opened with an additional room and suite, a dining room, a lounge and a bar. Three parties were held weekly where guests enjoyed themselves and had fun away from the press. On his trips to Europe, the prince advertised his hotel, also increasing the fame of the city of Marbella.
Today, the former estate surrounded by pine and fig trees offers 130 rooms and 17 villas. The 2 swimming pools, the beach club, the 6 bars, the spa and the gym complete the experience of tranquility and disconnection. The 50 hectares of gardens are maintained surrounding the estate. Exceptional service along with views of the sea and La Concha peak elevate the experience to a higher level. In summer, having a cocktail in the evening at «El Patio» surrounded by greenery and enjoying the music of the live dj is a real treat.
We share the beauty of places that tell a story. Luxury in the details and the goal of making people feel at home.
