Nature, gastronomy and wine in the Priorat region
In the heart of the Priorat region, surrounded by vineyards, lies Terra Dominicata, a former 12th century farm that belonged to the Carthusian monks of Escaladei, now converted into a wonderful 5-star hotel. A peaceful place to connect with nature and enjoy the silence.
Respectful of the local legacy and its historical and cultural heritage, Terra Dominicata is reminiscent of a small village of just few houses.The project, led by Barcelona-based SCOB studio, combines different materials, textures, colours and local techniques, preserving its essence after the intervention to recover the original buildings.
The old farmhouse of the estate houses its restaurant Mater Terrae under the gastronomic direction of chef Fran López, a different way of discovering the region through its cuisine. In addition, the hotel offers the possibility of visiting the estate’s own winery where to learn first-hand about the wines produced using sustainable techniques.
We share a common understanding of luxury through wellbeing. The serenity of nature and the need to connect with the environment. The way to recover the past and give a new use to places that tell a story.
Naturaleza, gastronomía y vino en el Priorat
En pleno corazón de la comarca del Priorat, rodeado de viñedos, se encuentra Terra Dominicata, una antigua finca de cultivo del siglo XII de los monjes cartujanos de Escaladei, reconvertida hoy en día en un maravilloso hotel 5 estrellas. Un lugar calmado donde conectar con la naturaleza y disfrutar del silencio.
Respetuoso con la herencia local y su patrimonio histórico y cultural, Terra Dominicata recuerda a un pequeño pueblo de pocas casas. El proyecto liderado por el estudio SCOB de Barcelona, combina diferentes materiales, texturas, colores y técnicas locales, conservando su esencia tras la intervención para recuperar las edificaciones originales.
La antigua masía de la finca alberga su restaurante Mater Terrae bajo la dirección gastronómica del chef Fran López, una forma diferente de descubrir la comarca a través de su cocina. Además, el hotel ofrece la posibilidad de visitar la bodega de la propia finca donde conocer de primera mano los vinos producidos con técnicas sostenibles.
Compartimos la forma de entender el lujo a través del bienestar. La serenidad de la naturaleza y la necesidad de conectar con el entorno. La manera de recuperar el pasado y dar un nuevo uso a los lugares que cuentan una historia.
