A boutique hotel in the desert of Luxor
In the west of the city of Luxor, facing the desert, is Al Moudira, an oriental-inspired palace where time seems to stand still.
It was founded in 2002 by Zeina Aboukheir (a Lebanese photographer). Construction took several years, combining Islamic, Ottoman and Mediterranean architecture. Traditional materials, hand-painted frescoes, carved marble floors and antique doors salvaged from the area were used.
The hotel has 54 rooms decorated with latticework, domes, embroidered textiles and handcrafted pieces. The hotel is organised around interior courtyards to escape the high desert temperatures. In one of them is the swimming pool, surrounded by bougainvillea and vegetation, where you can disconnect and enjoy nature.

Un hotel boutique en el desierto de Luxor
En el oeste de la ciudad de Luxor, frente al desierto, se encuentra Al Moudira, un palacio de inspiración oriental donde el tiempo parece detenerse.
Fundado en 2002 por Zeina Aboukheir (fotógrafa libanesa). La construcción duró varios años, combinando arquitectura islámica, otomana y mediterránea. Se utilizaron materiales tradicionales, frescos pintados a mano, suelos de mármol tallado y puertas antiguas recuperadas de la zona.
El hotel cuenta con 54 habitaciones decoradas con celosías, cúpulas, textiles bordados y piezas artesanales. El hotel se organiza alrededor de patios interiores para huir de las altas temperaturas del desierto. En uno de ellos se encuentra la piscina, rodeada de buganvillas y vegetación, donde poder desconectar y disfrutar de la naturaleza.
