Dominique Crenn is a renowned French chef based in San Francisco, and for us, a source of inspiration and a reference point. Recognised worldwide for her innovative and poetic cuisine, we share her approach based on sensitivity and excellence, attention to detail and quality.
Passionate about cooking since she was a child thanks to the influence and expertise of her mother and grandmother, and the numerous visits to haute cuisine restaurants that her father took her to. In the 1980s, she moved to San Francisco to pursue her culinary career.
In 2011, she opened her first restaurant: Atelier Crenn. A space inspired by her father, who sought to ‘tell stories, not limit the imagination’. The seasonal menu is presented as a poem written by the chef, where each dish represents a verse, creating a narrative experience that connects the product with her personal history.
Atelier Crenn received its first Michelin star in the same year it opened, its second the following year, and its third in 2017, making Dominique Crenn the first woman to obtain three Michelin stars in the United States (and the fourth in the world). She currently also runs Petit Crenn and Bar Crenn, and has designed the culinary experience at Café Dior in Dallas, where her philosophy merges with that of the house, creating dishes inspired by the brand’s iconic garments.
An advocate of ‘less is more,’ we share her vision that the fewer resources you have, the more creativity you develop. Although technology helps, according to the chef, the key to the success of recipes lies in the quality of the ingredients. Bleu Belle Farm is the farm she acquired to supply her restaurants, named in honour of her two daughters. Located in the Sonoma Valley, it grows fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers using regenerative agriculture practices to enrich the soil and close the sustainable cycle.

Dominique Crenn es una prestigiosa chef francesa afincada en San Francisco, para nosotras, una fuente de inspiración y referente. Reconocida mundialmente por su cocina innovadora y poética, compartimos su forma de hacer basada en la sensibilidad y en la excelencia, el cuidado del detalle y la calidad.
Apasionada por la cocina desde que era pequeña gracias a la influencia y saber hacer de su madre y su abuela, y a las numerosas visitas a restaurantes de alta cocina a las que le llevaba su padre. En los años 80 se mudó a San Francisco para desarrollar su carrera gastronómica.
En 2011, abrió su primer restaurante: Atelier Crenn. Un espacio inspirado en su padre, que buscaba «contar historias, no poner límite a la imaginación». El menú de temporada se presenta como un poema escrito por la chef, donde cada plato representa un verso, creando una experiencia narrativa que conecta el producto con su historia personal.
Atelier Crenn recibió la primera estrella Michelin el mismo año de la inauguración, el año siguiente la segunda y en 2017 la tercera, convirtiendo a Dominique Crenn en la primera mujer en obtener tres estrellas Michelin en Estados Unidos (y la cuarta del mundo). Actualmente dirige también Petit Crenn y Bar Crenn, y ha diseñado la experiencia culinaria del Café Dior de Dallas en la que su filosofía se fusiona con la de la casa, creando platos que se inspiran en prendas icónicas de la marca.
Defensora del «menos es más», compartimos su visión que sostiene que cuantos menos recursos se tiene, más se desarrolla la creatividad. Aunque la tecnología ayuda, según la chef, la clave del éxito de las recetas reside en la calidad de los ingredientes. Bleu Belle Farm es la granja que adquirió para abastecer a sus restaurantes, nombrada en honor a sus dos hijas. Situada en el valle de Sonoma, allí se cultivan frutas, verduras, hierbas y flores mediante prácticas de agricultura regenerativa, con el fin de enriquecer el suelo y cerrar el ciclo sostenible.
